The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed game that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for embracing action and insanity with equal excitement, all while presenting engaging, socially charged narratives. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two creators whose work have embodied all of those qualities.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' format by having a new setting and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their steady confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can evolve from season to season, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this intricate and unpredictable perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, ambitious approach to the television.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
